LD 1703: “An Act to Provide Supplemental Funding for Mileage Reimbursement for Volunteers for the Meals on Wheels Programs”:  LD 1703 was not included in the Supplemental Budget so efforts were made to report it out of the Appropriations Committee and include it on the “Special Appropriations Table”.  Unfortunately, the Appropriations Committee voted “ought not to pass” on LD 1703.  However, they stated that the reason for that vote was because LD 1348, “An Act to Increase Funding for the Meals on Wheels Program” was already included on the “Special Appropriations Table”.  (It was carried over from last year). LD 1348 is virtually identical to LD 1703, containing the same funding ($100,000 FY 05-06 and $100,000 FY 06-07).  Both bills were introduced by Rep. Campbell and supported by M4A.
