Spectrum Generations offers two health education programs that research has proven reduce risks to health, and improve quality of life. These programs are offered at Spectrum Generations centers, and may be brought to residential facilities and other organizations. Living Well

The Living Well for Better Health program is a workshop given two and a half hours, once a week, for six weeks. People with different chronic health problems attend together. Subjects covered include techniques to deal with problems such as:

Program participants demonstrate significant improvements in exercise, cognitive symptom management, communication with physicians, self-reported general health, health distress, fatigue, disability, and social/role activities limitations. A Matter of Balance

A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls program is specifically designed to reduce fear of falling, stop the fear of falling cycle, and improve activity levels among community-dwelling older adults. The program includes eight two hour classes where participants learn to:

MOB is designed to benefit community-dwelling older adults who are concerned about falls, have sustained a fall in the past, restrict activities because of concerns about falling, are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength, are age 60 or older, ambulatory and able to problem-solve.

Participants have found significant improvement regarding their level of falls management; falls control; level of exercise; and social limitations with regard to concern about falling. To view a short video about the program, please click here.
