Laurie Bannen - Cutting through the red tape!
Laurie’s career with Spectrum Generations evolved from being one of a pool of Customer Service Representatives at our Home Office in Augusta, to working more directly with consumers in the community at Spectrum Generations Muskie Community Center in Waterville.
Whether face-to-face at the Muskie Center, or sometimes traveling to a consumer’s home, Laurie offers caring support and assistance with applying for money-saving benefits programs, Medicare prescription Drug Program, Tax and Rent Rebate, home heating bills, long-term care options, and much more.
As a Registered Nurse with a back ground in insurance, Laurie knows how to get through the complex insurance world. On a monthly basis, Laurie assists an average of 100 consumers with complex and multiple issues.
Her role and ability as a State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselor has led to her being recognized by other state agencies. She’s a point person in the community because her ability to review benefits, identify ways to provide savings and recognize incorrect polices and fraud.
In her spare time Laurie sings with a choir, volunteers for NAMI-Maine and other local organizations, and renovates old homes with her husband. She especially enjoys time with her family, which includes her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and her dog, Gracie. Spectrum Generations is proud to call Laurie part of its family, too!
