Highlights of Spectrum Generations Community Impact
Here are just a few examples of how our services impacted quality of life in our communities last year, and how your gift makes a difference:
- Spectrum Generations served over 12,500 individuals in our six-county area.
- Our Meals on Wheels program delivered 184,394 healthy meals to homebound seniors. (A gift of $30.00 buys a senior meals for a week; a gift of a $132 provides meals for a month.)
- We devoted over 107,491 hours to outreach, assisting older adults and their families in person and via our toll-free information and help line with Medicare Part D and other prescription drug programs, rent and tax rebates, money-saving benefits programs, tax and rent rebates, and much more.
- We provided over 15,133 hours of respite for a family caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s. (A gift of $15 buys one hour’s respite for a family, a gift of $120 buys a day’s respite, and a gift of $600 allows a family a week’s respite to rest and take care of other put off needs.)
- Spectrum Generations’s Bridges program provided over 78,654 hours of personal services to adults wishing to stay and/or recover in their own homes, including homemaking services, meal prep, errands, transportation to doctor’s appointments, as well as care management.
- Over 84,181 hours of our Adult DayBreak care services at our Community Centers were received by seniors in need of a variety of health, social and other support services.
- We served over 45,881 nutritious meals at social dining lunches held at our Community Centers.
- Our many fun and engaging Center activities were enjoyed by over 10,493 participants. Gifts to our Centers are allocated according to priority needs unique to each Center, which may include activity supplies, special events, health screenings, or trips to name just a few.
- This year, nearly 770 individuals volunteered 35,715 hours of their time partnering with Spectrum Generations to truly make a difference in the lives of the people of our communities.
