Ruth & Charlie Steen have been married for 47 years moved to Winthrop about 39 years ago from New York. Ruth is a native of Bavaria Germany and she & Charlie enjoy traveling and have taken several trips with Elder Hostel. A friend mentioned various volunteer opportunities at the Cohen Center to Ruth so she stopped by and for the last 6 months has been a volunteer waitress for social dining. Because they enjoy traveling so much, Ruth was asked if she was willing to be the trip group leader for the Cape Cod trip.
Ruth states, “I was very willing to take part in it and my husband Charlie assisted me with the 34 people making sure everyone was on the bus, had what they needed in their hotel rooms, etc. We were thrilled to do this! The trip was wonderful and we never felt rushed. The tour company staff was very knowledgeable and often made us laugh."
Overall, this was one of the best experiences we have had. We would absolutely go on another trip with Spectrum Generations. It was a wonderful week; we met new people and made new friends.
